Company![]() | Press Releases July 30, 2003 Kerio Personal Firewall Goes Back to School Kerio Announces Educational Site License Program for Its Personal Firewall; Arizona State University and Duke University Are Among First Clients SANTA CLARA, Calif., July 30 - Despite the presence of firewalls, campus networks are still at risk from security threats mainly because of spyware or Trojan horse applications. Current network firewalls are not effective in preventing security holes caused by spyware. However, personal firewalls have the capability to stop them. Kerio's Educational Site License Program allows universities and educational institutions to install as many copies of Kerio Personal Firewall on their servers and computers as they need. "Under this site license program we do not count licenses or users," says Dusan Vitek, director of marketing for Kerio Technologies. "This has allowed schools such as Arizona State or Duke University to cost-effectively deploy personal firewall technology on all workstations and elevate desktop security beyond basic antivirus protection and file encryption." "Kerio Personal Firewall is easy to install and configure. It works seamlessly with the other security and functional applications that our community uses," says Robin Manke-Cassidy from the ASU Information Technology Department. "Arizona State University is using Kerio Personal Firewall to assist in securing the campus network by securing the workstations of faculty, staff, and students." Site license pricing starts at $20,000.00 and includes one year of technical support and upgrades. More information is available at http://www.kerio.com/kpf_site_license.html. Kerio Personal Firewall was picked as Download of the Month in the August 2003 issue of PC World in the United States and won the Editor's Choice award in the March 2003 issue of APC in Australia.
