Kerio Teams with Internet Security Systems to Provide Mail Filtering in Its Windows Firewall

Kerio Integrates Internet Security Systems' Mail Filtering Technology to Block Spam at Its First Point of Entry, the Internet Gateway

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Kerio Technologies Inc. is joining forces with Internet Security Systems to include sophisticated mail filtering into their firewall solutions. The first Kerio product to incorporate ISS' mail filtering technology will be Kerio WinRoute Firewall, an ICSA Labs-certified network firewall for Windows servers, whose next version is scheduled to be available later this spring. Targeted toward small and medium sized businesses, the resulting package will provide a complete software alternative to high-end appliances combining a router, firewall, VPN, anti-virus, content filter, and spam filter.

Internet Security Systems' mail filtering technology blocks annoying, unwanted spam to improve productivity and free network resources. The technology uses a sophisticated e-mail analysis process employing multiple techniques that examine all e-mail fields and the body of the message to avoid blocking legitimate traffic. Leveraging a spam database that uses over 800 spam collectors, ISS' mail filtering technology analyzes 20,000 e-mails daily and provides customers with up to four daily updates to stay ahead of the latest spam scams.
