Kerio MailServer 6 offers collaboration support for MS Outlook and Entourage on Mac OS X

Sleek new WebMail challenges software mail clients with contextual menus and drag n' drop

WWDC 2004, SAN FRANCISCO - Kerio Technologies today announced Kerio MailServer 6 for users to receive email, synchronize contacts and view calendar events through the most popular corporate email clients and Internet browsers on both Mac and Windows.

"Kerio MailServer 6 bridges the groupware gap between Mac and Windows and allows both platforms to smoothly collaborate from one server, such as an Xserve G5," says Martin Viktora, CEO of Kerio Technologies. "Not only do our customers get high-end spam and virus protection from Kerio MailServer, but they can also take advantage of Mac OS X's stability and an Xserve's 64-bit performance."

"Mac OS X Server melds the most powerful and popular technologies from the open source community to provide flexible and advanced tools for easy management of shared resources across any network," says Ron Okamoto, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. "Kerio MailServer 6 is a great mail server management tool and addition to the growing number of IT solutions for Mac OS X."

Integration with Active Directory
A front-runner among messaging developers for small and medium size businesses, Kerio was first to integrate Active Directory last year, and Microsoft's Caller ID anti-spam technology earlier this year.

The focus of Kerio MailServer 6 development has been on enhancing the webmail client, which now allows users to manage calendars and tasks in addition to email. Users can drag and drop email messages between folders and access contextual menus for email and calendar events in both Internet Explorer on Windows, and Safari on Mac OS X, bringing the comfort of a desktop email client to webmail.

Support for Microsoft Entourage X and 2004 on Mac OS X is integrated, allowing users to sync up their calendars and contacts as soon as their account is configured. Microsoft Outlook users will need to install Kerio Outlook Connector, a MAPI based plug-in for Outlook 2000, XP and 2003 that synchronizes contacts, calendars and tasks to Kerio MailServer 6, completely eliminating the need for MS Exchange. Also included is a new migration utility that moves mail, calendars and users in Exchange 5.5, 2000 and 2003 to Kerio MailServer 6.

Pricing & Availability
Kerio MailServer 6 is scheduled for July 2004.

The software will start at $449 for the base license, which includes 20 mailboxes; also available will be the version with integrated McAfee Anti-Virus starting at $699. The price for 120 mailboxes will be around $800 and $1500 respectively; Education/Government pricing will be available as well.

Both versions include the built in SpamEliminator anti-spam engine, now improved with user-based training. Kerio MailServer 6 runs on Windows 2000/XP/2003, Red Hat Linux, SUSE Linux, or Mac OS X 10.3.
