Kerio launches first real groupware alternative to Microsoft Exchange for SME

Manageability, collaboration features, and price encourage organizations with fewer than 500 employees to migrate from Exchange 5.5.

SANTA CLARA, California - Kerio MailServer 6 is not the first messaging server to target small and medium size businesses, but it is the first to truly meet the needs of this market, especially when it comes to collaboration. As a standard option, Kerio MailServer 6 features the Kerio Outlook Connector, allowing companies to use Microsoft Outlook for sharing and sychronizing calendars, contacts and tasks.

At less than $35 per mailbox including McAfee Anti-Virus, Kerio MailServer costs a fraction of the price of the so-called “small business” editions of other enterprise groupware solutions.

Closely resembling the look and feel of a desktop mail application, the new super-fast Kerio WebMail can instantly fill-in as a corporate groupware client, giving users access to calendars and contacts, as well as message drag-n-drop and out-of-office reply.

To ease migration from Microsoft Exchange 5.5, 2000 and 2003, Kerio MailServer includes the helpful Kerio Exchange Migration Tools, that move all user data, email, calendars and tasks from Microsoft Exchange to Kerio MailServer.

Unlike Exchange, Kerio MailServer 6 runs on Linux and Mac OS X in addition to Windows, making it an attractive alternative for any organization. Kerio MailServer 6 starts at $449 for 20 users and includes the Kerio Outlook Connector and the Exchange Migration Tools. A license for 120 users is $798. The software is also available with integrated McAfee Anti-Virus starting at $699 for the base version or $1498 for 120 mailboxes. Available now.
