Kerio MailServer is the first groupware server on Mac OS X to support Entourage 2004 SP2

Extended functionality of Entourage now fully supported by Kerio MailServer 6.1.2

Santa Clara, Calif. – Kerio Technologies posted a new version of Kerio MailServer that allows Mac users to unlock the new groupware features found in Microsoft’s Entourage 2004 Service Pack 2 (SP2) and more effectively collaborate with their colleagues using Outlook on a PC. Entourage 2004 SP2 adds better support for multiple calendars, Global Address List (GAL) and folder delegation.

Kerio MailServer acts as an email and groupware server, supporting Outlook and Entourage as its email and groupware clients. It is designed for small and medium sized businesses and on the Mac side has a strong following among advertising agencies and schools.

“Entourage 2004 SP 2 is now closer in functionality to Outlook, its Windows counterpart, and our latest update to Kerio MailServer helps Mac users discover previously inaccessible areas of email collaboration,” says Dusan Vitek, VP Marketing for Kerio Technologies. “Now Entourage users can view and share calendars in their workgroup without having to open a second application like iCal or our WebMail client.”

MacForce, a leading Mac reseller serving the Greater Portland business community in Oregon, sees an increased interest in a Mac-based messaging. “Cost was not the only reason for MacForce to choose Kerio for our corporate customers,” explains Shane Spiess, President of MacForce. “There are other more important factors. Kerio MailServer is platform independent, easy to administer, and compatible with a wide range of email clients. It greatly helps us support our customers, for many of whom we act as a virtual IT department.”

Price and availability
Kerio MailServer is available now from over 500 partners worldwide and starts at $499 for 20 users, or $899 with integrated McAfee Anti-Virus. Kerio MailServer runs on Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows.
