Kerio Previews a New Mail Server Virtual Appliance at LinuxWorld

Kerio MailServer Bundled With Fedora a Snap to Test and Deploy on VMware

SANTA CLARA, CA - Kerio Technologies Inc., a developer of cross-platform email and collaboration solutions for small to medium sized organizations, will preview the Kerio MailServer Virtual Appliance for VMware during the LinuxWorld trade show in San Francisco. The virtual appliance is designed for both production use and evaluation.

The Kerio MailServer virtual appliance includes a pre-configured version of the Fedora operating system. Upon bootup of the virtual machine, Kerio MailServer automatically installs and runs a setup wizard allowing IT administrators to start playing with the appliance right away.

"Those looking to experience the stability of Linux along with the easy administration of Kerio MailServer can do so in minutes using VMware Workstation, VMware ESX Server, or VMware Player," says Martin Viktora, CTO of Kerio Technologies. "This virtual appliance will change the way people test and run email servers on Linux."

In a production environment, Kerio MailServer customers can take advantage of hardware optimization, high availability and other benefits offered by VMware Infrastructure 3.

"This is fantastic and wonderful! This helps cut costs in a number of areas. Companies that run the Kerio MailServer appliance in a production environment can experience better performance, lower the chances of installation issues, and gain more uptime in event of a failure," said Anthony Lawrence, VMware advocate and President of A.P. Lawrence, an IT consulting firm in Middleboro, Massachusetts. "This will really make it quick and easy for administrators to test the product, perform server migrations, or move to new hardware."
