Kerio Previews Kerio MailServer 6.5 with CalDAV

San Jose, CA – January 15, 2008 – Kerio Technologies Inc., will exhibit its upcoming version Kerio MailServer 6.5 with a new integrated CalDAV server at the MacWorld expo in San Francisco. The new CalDAV server overcomes the problems of scheduling meetings between users that have different calendaring applications.

Implemented in Kerio MailServer 6.5, the CalDAV server allows Apple iCal 3 users on Mac OS X Leopard to access free/busy information and shared calendars not only from other iCal calendars but also from Microsoft Outlook, Entourage, and Kerio WebMail and vice versa. Kerio MailServer centralizes the calendars, so calendars in Apple iCal are automatically synchronized with Kerio WebMail and smartphones for anytime and anywhere access.

“The CalDAV protocol gives a big increase in Apple iCal’s value to corporate users. Our iCal users can now benefit from the business applications that they have been missing for a long time, such as free/busy and delegation,” said Joe Pruskowski, principal consultant of Pruskowski Consulting.

As a member of the CalConnect consortium, Kerio Technologies joins in the collaboration with other members to promote the adoption of CalDAV in calendaring applications and servers. The implementation of CalDAV will give users the freedom to choose their preferred platform or application to schedule appointments with other users.

The new CalDAV features in Kerio MailServer will be demonstrated at the Kerio booth at MacWorld and available for preview by downloading the release candidate version of Kerio MailServer 6.5 from the Kerio Beta page.

Kerio MailServer is a crossplatform email and collaboration server for small to medium organizations that installs on Mac, Windows, and Linux.
