Kerio MailServer with integrated McAfee Anti-Virus

This version of KMS includes integrated virus scanning from McAfee Security.
Integrated version
Benefits of having an integrated product:
Single installation file.
Anti-virus managed directly from mail server administration.
Pre-configured; only setting option is the periodic update.
Internally managed virus scanning
Like the standard version of Kerio MailServer, KMS with McAfee Anti-Virus
offers all of the advantages that internally managed virus scanning provides over SMTP gateway AV solutions, including:
all mail access protocols are checked, not only SMTP traffic
SSL encrypted SMTP traffic is checked
user based SMTP authentification gives better flexibility
For a complete list of benefits and a comparison of internally managed virus
scanning versus regular SMTP gateway AV solutions, please proceed to the
Anti-Virus solution comparison page.
Installation
Kerio MailServer with integrated McAfee Anti-Virus adds dedicated virus scanning using McAfee Security. The Anti-Virus component is built into a special downloadable version of KMS. Updates are managed through the KMS administration console.
Updates can be performed as often as once an hour. A separate dialog displays the age of the existing database and when it was last updated. Upon completion of an update an entry will appear in the security log. To view the status of updates and anti-virus processing the administrator can enable "Anti-virus check processing" in the debug window. Below is a screenshot of the McAfee Anti-Virus dialog.
McAfee Technology
McAfee's scan engine provides advanced detection technology to find viruses,
Trojans, worms, malicious ActiveX controls and Java applets that may be part
of an email or included in an email attachment. McAfee protects against the
increasingly complex and frequent Internet-borne attacks that threaten to
cripple e-business.
All McAfee products are backed by McAfee AVERT (Anti-Virus Emergency
Response Team), McAfee's team of research experts. AVERT is one of the
top-ranked anti-virus research organizations in the world, employing more
than 90 researchers in offices on five continents.
McAfee protects customers by providing cures developed through the combined
efforts of McAfee's AVERT researchers and AutoImmune technology - applying
advanced heuristics, generic detection and ActiveDAT technology to deliver
cures for previously undiscovered viruses. McAfee's AutoImmune technology
is also the driving force behind WebImmune - the world's first online
real-time scanner, delivering updated solutions to McAfee customers.
The McAfee scan engine used in Kerio MailServer is based on the same
award-winning technology as McAfee VirusScan.
McAfee VirusScan received the 2001 and 2002 Readers' Trust Award for 'Best
Anti-Virus Product' in the SC Awards in London. VirusScan for Windows
95/98/2000 is an ICSA certified anti-virus solution and was the first
anti-virus product to receive ICSA certification on Microsoft Windows XP.
ICSA Labs, an independent division of TruSecure Corporation, is a worldwide
leader in security standards-setting for all types of companies worldwide.
McAfee provides industry-leading anti-virus products for corporate
customers. McAfee Security is a product line of Network Associates, Inc.
[NYSE: NET], with headquarters in Santa Clara, California.
