What's New for the User

New Smartphone Interface

Completely redesigned, the new Kerio Workspace 1.1 smartphone interface offers touch-based mobile access with a more native look and feel. Users can now view shared content with full color and layout, navigate between Page columns with a carousel control, do a full text search, and even visit their News Feed. The new interface works beautifully on iPhone, Android, and BlackBerry. Learn more.

Upload

Upload and Share Files with Drag and Drop

It doesn't get much easier. Now you can upload and share multiple files at once simply by dragging them from your computer onto a Page. Even drag an image or video file onto a Page and watch it automatically display where you drop it.

Groups

Share With Groups

You want it? You got it. Administrators can now create user groups or nested groups. Groups can also be imported from Active or Open Directory. These groups can then be selected by users when setting sharing rights on Pages and Spaces.

Duplicate

Duplicate Pages

Repeating success is a good thing, so partial or full duplication of a Kerio Workspace Page is now as simple as a few clicks. Users can recreate a layout skeleton or an entire Page with or without File Libraries. Even if a user decides to duplicate an entire Page including all File Libraries, Kerio Workspace is smart enough not to duplicate those files stored on the server.

Visual Clipboard

In Workspace, it’s always been possible to move components and files from one Page to another using the Cut and Paste actions. In this version, we've added a visual clipboard so you can keep track of what you've cut. Of course, it also gives you the option to put the file right back where you found it, no matter where you go.

What's New for the Admin

New RPM Package

For Linux users, an RPM installation package is now available. This makes our Linux support more universal. In addition to a DEB package for Debian and Ubuntu distributions, we now also support RedHat, SUSE and CentOS Linux distributions.

VMware Virtual Appliance

A new installation option is now available - a VMware Virtual Appliance. Based on Debian 6.0, it is the fastest and most convenient way to get Kerio Workspace running and ready for evaluation.

Content Admin Mode

Ever needed to check if your employees are using Workspace as a device to store and share illegal content? Ever needed access rights to an important Space visible only to someone who is currently on vacation? Selected users can now be designated as content administrators. By clicking a box in the administration interface, a user can be granted administrator rights to everything and can perform content maintenance tasks. All actions in content admin mode are logged in detail for later inspection and auditing.

Other New Admin Features

  • New web-based configuration wizard
  • Optional automatic HTTPS redirect
  • Users can change their passwords in local user database
  • Transfer rights when deleting a user or a group
  • Migration from local user database to directory service

"The fact that Kerio Workspace enables multiple people in different locations to collaborate simultaneously on the same document and keep track
of all changes is
simply priceless."
