Kerio API at the University

College life. Exams and tests. Collecting credit hours and biting through a load of everyday issues. But also challenges, building up practice and inviting experiences!

Kerio has been searching for new talents all the time. Thanks to our great relationship with the ZCU Plzen (University of West Bohemia in Pilsen). We have been cooperating with students on many projects, including thesis on regular basic. It makes it easier for students to jump-start their career in Kerio.

Project Operator Ext Management
A tiny application which would allow any person to administer users and extensions on the Kerio Operator without the need to have full access to Web Administration that can be used by regular users, like HR or receptionist.

Open Source
Kerio is a leader in the implementation of open standards in their products. In this spirit, this application is also released as open source software. Anyone from the community so the application can obtain, use or contribute to it. The project is hosted on Github.com/Kerio under BSD license. Want to share your project with the community? Let us know. :)

Achievements
For Kerio, just a few meetings. But for the students? Surely a few hours spent on code writing. Here is a short list of features:

  • A phone book for any user
  • A QuickAdd which will assign to user the first possible free line
  • An interface where regular users can assign themselves a new extension
  • An interface where authorised users can assign a new extension to any other user

Added value for students
The team: Mr. Roman Polak, Mr. Karel Fort, Mr. David Fiala, Mr. Jan Sedivy

"At the beginning we were afraid of working with external project authority (Kerio). Until this time we have had only projects at the University. It was the first external project for all members at team. But after several meetings and emails with description of Kerio API, we have been able to start working on project." --- said project leader Mr. Roman Polak

Anyone may try it
