A new home for Kerio Collaboration

Hi, my name is Joshua Ellinger and I am the global webmaster here at Kerio Technologies. At the Kerio Innovation Lab we have been working hard to bring new ways to collaborate with, and connect with you, the Kerio Community. This is a unique opportunity for us to test new ideas, bring you deeper explanations of our products. Additionally, this is a unique opportunity to allow us to see what you have to say about our thoughts, ideas and plans.

Why now? We are on the verge of some exciting changes. Kerio Connect (formerly known as Kerio MailServer) is now in Release Candidate stage and we look forward to it's upcoming release. Here at Kerio we feel that this product has outgrown the name MailServer. We are very excited about this development, and in true Kerio spirit want to give you the opportunity to comment on our new developments.

You can expect in the coming weeks and months to hear more about the new Kerio Connect, and other exciting news and events from an array of friendly people here at Kerio. This blog is not only for our upcoming rebrand but to give you a wider window into life here at Kerio. We are committed to making quality products and part of that quality process is listening to you. The Kerio community.

Minor suggestion: You should add the RSS header links to all pages, not just the home page. You should also have a "Subscribe" link in each page.

I'm looking forward to more posts.

As far as for this part of the world, we could take advantage of the experiences of other partners not only on their sales efforts but on technical issues. This benefit both Kerio and all their partners in combined efforts for getting Kerio to be the great product it is now.

Joshua, good to see that

Joshua, good to see that Kerio has opened this blog to communicate with their end-users and their world wide partners (next to the other social media tools like Twitter and Facebook).

@Memnon: It seems that Kerio is not really aware about the need for IPv6 (or has a hidden agenda). So many people from in and out the IPv6 community are Kerio asking to implement IPv6 in their products for a long, long time. Introducing Connect 7 could be a nice starting point for introducing this easy protocol in their flagship product.

@Kerio keep up the good work and I'm looking forward for new features and improvements!

@ArjenS: Yes it seems so, it's a real shame. I'm afraid Kerio is unaware of the seriousness and urgency of this matter.

But they probably don't realize the (sales) opportunities this would create them as well. I know allot of users want to get their networks IPv6 ready. It would be a shame if they'd look at alternatives to Kerio.

@Joshua Ellinger. There seems to be no email notification of posts made in this thread. Perhaps this is a feature you can build into the blog.

Is this the new place to propogate IPv6? My 6 cents: IPv6 is less hard to implement that thought at first!

New trend is K.C. I see ;)

Great to see this. Two things

Great to see this.

Two things to add to Kerio

1) When deleting a recurring task in calendar. It deletes all recurring tasks. I know in exchange it gives you the option to delete or modify the calendar entry you are deleting or delete all recurring tasks.

2) Want to know if Kerio Mail will support Clustering in the near future.

Thanks,

I would love to see that more

I would love to see that more attention is given to webmail.
For instance
1) Only folders with new mail in it are displayed in bold. Not the folders above it also. It would be nice to see that new mail has arrived in a subfolder without having to open them all.

2) I would like to see the possibility to give every domain it's own logo and login screen. Now you can only see one logo and one login screen.
Both changes can't be hard to implement.

3) I would like to see that the mail filter can also filter on the name of the sender, not just the emailaddress.

4) The search capabilities should be much improved. Now I simply can't find my mail. I sometimes go to the server and search in the folders where the mail is stored to find something.

I can go on...
But I want to thank you for creating such an awesome product, that is much better then anything else I know, even without all the things I wrote.

Great but some imp. lacks ...

Hi there,

great and easy to use software so far, but what we miss very much during business usage of the Mailserver is the option to have exceptions from recurring appointments!
Any plans to support this, as most of the other mailservers aleady do?

Much appreciated ...

Ah, and another quite important lack: no option so far to cancel appointments with a corresponding email-message to the participants :( ... any comment on this? Thanx!!

Make Kerio Connect WebMail a "MailTo" option.

We only use WebMail and as a result this is not an option when a person tries to email a web page or as a user found out today when they clicked a "Contact Us" link on a website. In order to have this feature we would have to install Outlook and I do not want to do that.

Several Wemail additions I

Several Wemail additions I would like to see.

New Mail notification.

Be able to right click address info and have it added to Contacts with information going in the right places. Minimally be able to right click the email address to add it to contacts.

Search message body to retrieve emails. Words in messages could be indexed when a message is saved out of the inbox. When something is needed to be found the index would be searched not the whole message thus eliminating the need to open each message to search for content. The indexing could be done at the time a message is saved or during non-busy hours as determined by administrator settings. I used a non-database email system years ago that indexed messages thus allowing emails to be retrieved by word searches. By only allowing the indexing to happen when messages are saved out of the inbox this encourages users to not save every message and to file in folders that make retrieval easier.

Hi Joshua. I searched the comunity and it seems to be a problem to quite a few users: With the latest version of Kerio Connect I still face the problem, that recurring tasks wont show up again after completion one time. It only works in outlook as it seems to me that the client sets and regulates the process of setting up a "new" task after you complete it. If you complete in the web interface the task doesnt recur anymore and if I complete in iCal the completion isnt even transmitted - the task still shows up a not completed in web and outlook ;-( Any hints, suggestions? Thanks Daniel

Webmail "Permanent Delete" or

Webmail "Permanent Delete" or "Immediate Delete" option.

There are some messages in a users Inbox that when deleted the user knows they will never again open the message. Having the message moved to the Deleted Items folder and forcing the user to delete it again is an unnessary step for those messages.

In Outlook when I right click an email and hold the shift key while selecting the Delete option I am notified that the email will be permanently deleted. This bypasses moving the message to the Deleted Items folder thus the user does not have to delete the same message again.

I propose adding "Permanent Delete" or "Immediate Delete" to the option menu displayed when a user right clicks on a message. Messages deleted using this option are not moved to the Deleted Items folder.

We had a lot of trouble

We had a lot of trouble finding and loading the current VPN client. It took 3 of us to figure out there was a tab to click . It does not clearly stand out as a separate tab unless you are looking for it. I know your revenue product is Connect but perhaps you could add a couple words an links that makes it easier to send someone to the current client when we want to invite them onto our private network.
