Kerio Team Members Celebrate 10 Year Work Anniversaries

Ivana Mašková (Senior Accountant), Jitka Porazilová (HR Director), Radek Šíp (Quality Engineer) and Martin Ježek (Kerio Control Developer) have all recently celebrated their ten year work anniversary at Kerio. We sat down with each of them to get their take on what it's like to work at Kerio. Check out what they had to say...

How did you find out about Kerio?

IM: “My friend who worked at Kerio told me that they were looking for a new accountant.”

JP: “One day I received a call from a recruitment agency looking to fill the position of HR manager at Kerio. He asked if I was interested – I said yes!”

RŠ: “When I was at University I was looking for a suitable mail server for Linux. I soon found Kerio and was excited to learn that Kerio develops not only for Windows but also for Linux and Mac.”

MJ: “My friends Jan Jezek and Roman Jokl already worked at Kerio. They would frequently talk about the great stuff they were doing at work along with the challenges they faced – Kerio sounded like a great place to be.”

Was there anything that stood out about your first day at Kerio?

IM: "I will always remember all of the colleagues I had to greet on that day."

JP: "I got stuck in from day one – after only three hours I interviewed my first candidate at Kerio."

MJ: "I broke my leg fourteen days before my first day at Kerio, so I remember starting with my leg all bandaged up."

Can you describe Kerio in one word?

IM: "Friendship (cooperation)."

JP: "Invaluable experience."

RŠ: "People."

MJ: "Splendid."

What does Kerio mean to you on a personal and professional level?

IM: "I like that my colleagues cooperate and have no problem in sharing their experience and knowledge with one another. Everyone works as a team at Kerio, where as in other companies individuals can easily get wrapped up in their own work and career progression."

JP: “I met my best friend at Kerio and I believe that our friendship will last forever. They're not just my colleagues but friends I want to spend time with after work enjoying a beer or two. It's a friendly atmosphere and it's clear that everyone loves the work they do. They're always happy to help."

RŠ: "Kerio is a great employer and I think it's here that most people realize it's not just about money but also about the team and working conditions. At Kerio you get trust, benefits, the possibility of further professional growth and more."

MJ: "I'm happy that I decided to change my job years ago. I enjoy the unusual, general friendly nature of relationships here at Kerio. People are always open to having some fun and happy to discuss any work topic with you. Professionally, Kerio has enabled me to grow so much. Ten years ago I knew some programming languages and I had some knowledge in other areas. At the time I had a feeling that I had a lot to learn, but I didn't know how much!"

What are some of your fondest memories of your 10 years at Kerio?

IM: "There's just so many, including team building, outdoor activities, trips to restaurants, sports activities and concerts."

JP: "The 15th anniversary party, visiting the UK office for the first time and having lunch with colleagues who cooked the meal for us by themselves. Also, I can't forget the trip to the US when Kerio's CFO and Treasurer Alan Hughes tried to show us San Francisco in just one day!"

RŠ: "The Kerio family events are great! Sometimes I say half-jokingly and half-seriously that I hope to be at Kerio until I retire."

Can you recall a funny moment you've had at Kerio?

IM: "At one of my reviews one of my managers led me to believe that my work wasn't up to scratch as a big joke. He started to analyze everything and then laughed and reassured me that my job was safe!"

JP: "When I returned from maternity leave someone posted a funny picture on the wall of my colleagues who had dressed as children, wearing pampers and playing with toys."

RŠ: "We've played office pranks on colleagues who were on vacation, such as packing up their desk and stationery with bubble wrap!"

What future endeavors are you looking forward to at Kerio?

IM: "I am looking forward to new challenges."

JP: "I can't wait to bring more new employees into Kerio, who will get to enjoy in the same amazing experiences as me."

RŠ: "I can't wait to see what the cloud brings, seeing as a few years ago I could not imagine that data would leave my encrypted computer, my own server or phone. Today I use Samepage, I sync data across several Kerio Connect servers via ActiveSync, plus I have a family tree on the cloud, manage my accounts, online backups and more."

MJ: "I'm looking forward to gaining more responsibility over new product features."
